Although it’s officially spring, you wouldn’t feel it if you’re living in the Midwest. The dreary and chilly weather still makes me feel like spring has never arrived. So, going to the Macy’s Flower Show on State St. in Chicago was a real spring treat!
The Macy’s Flower Show theme this year is The Secret Garden. It showcases a colorful display of charming gardens with different motif from around the world – from Asian-inspired to Holland-themed gardens. Everywhere, you’ll see unique settings including a Salvador Dali portrait made of rose petals. In the center of the flower show is a tall mannequin dressed in bright red gown purely made up of hundreds of plants and flowers.
I am no expert when it comes to gardening and plants, but the Macy’s Flower Show definitely reminded me of the wonderful things to look forward to this season – colorful flowers, lush greeneries, and of course, beautiful gardens!
The Macy’s Flower Show is located on the 9th floor of the old Marshall Field’s building. It is free to the public and will run until Sunday, April 6.
